OUR CHICKENS EAT ORGANIC FOOD... HOW ABOUT YOU ?

The Reid family has been farming for generations. Our roots began in the Highlands of Scotland to Saskatchewan, Canada, more recently Chilliwack, British Columbia and presently Langley, British Columbia. We (Brad, Karen and our four boys, Dave, Jon, Paul and Nico) have been raising chicken since 1989. In 1994 we embarked on a more traditional method of growing chicken for the people of British Columbia. As B.C.’s first certified organic chicken farm we pioneered much of what is considered the norm in organic chicken production today. We started out with 100 chickens every two weeks to supplying 2,500 birds per week in 2004. We only raise certified organic chicken because we will only raise the best for our family, YOU and the environment. To our loyal customers that have provided encouragement and support along our path we say THANK YOU. To the rest of you, we encourage you to try the best quality chicken you will ever eat.

Hi Brad,

Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you, but I'm the guy who cycled out from North Van for your chickens... and I'll tell you this, it was a fully positive adventure for me.  I cooked a dinner for 10 with your chickens, used every single bone and scrap in stocks and sauces, and had several left over to try other things with.  I very simply seared and roasted them for the main dinner, and used the bones for a highly reduced dark stock and made a light stock as well, using it in a potato-leek soup.  With the leftovers, I made fried chicken and it was easily the best I've ever had.  I recently had to buy some organic chicken from Safeway for a last-minute dinner and I was truly disappointed in comparison to your super fresh and juicy Cornish.I hope you read about it on my blog, at http://newgastronome.blogspot.com.  If you'd like to use any of my photographs for your website, just drop me a line, I'm more than happy to help.  Thanks so much for taking such care with your hens, and providing them at such a reasonable price.  Please say hi to Karen and David for me!

Talk to you soon,
Shane Lobsinger,newgastronome@telus.net
